Why extra works go unpaid

A work turns up on site that was not in the estimate. The client is standing next to you and says "fine, do it". The work gets done. A month later a line appears on the invoice the client does not remember, and a negotiation starts in which the contractor usually gives in.

The problem is not the client – it is that nothing was recorded. Nobody wants to record things in the evening from memory. So recording has to take a minute and happen on site.

How it works

• Open the job site, tap "Extra work".
• Photograph the spot straight from the phone camera.
• Pick the work from the library or type it in, set the quantity and price.
• Send the client a link – they approve on their phone.
• The work attaches to the job site's estimate as a separate, approved line.

What the client sees

The client gets a link with the photo, the work description and the price. They see why the work is needed and approve or leave a comment. The photo matters: "risers need replacing" with a photo of rotten pipes raises fewer questions than a line on an invoice.

At the end of the month

On invoice day you see the original estimate and all extra works with approval dates on the job site. The total is clear to both sides, because every line was approved on the day it appeared.

Workers can record too

On Contractor Pro a worker on site can record an extra work as well – the photo and description come to you to confirm the price, then go to the client. You do not have to drive to the site to know what changed.
